Hostal Bubango

Kata & Marek: we as the owners have opened the hostel to fulfill our dream. We have travelled a lot staying mostly in hostels and had a strong opinion of how such a place should look like. We have collected all the best solutions and added our taste for design to create a place that is unique and one-of-a-kind. It has been our passion since 2022 to make it better and better.

Our facilities

To make your stay as comfortable as possible we are offering:

• different sized rooms, all with windows to the outside with views, some facing the main square of Los Sauces, some facing the mountains
• a quiet garden space with a locker for bicycles and some sports equipment available
• shared areas with a little library and board games
• fully equipped shared kitchen with large fridge, two hobs, stove, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a full set of kitchen tools so you can prepare even more elaborate meals here
• we have a stable optical fiber internet connection, with multiple wifi access points to provide good range in all rooms and areas
• we make great stress about ecological solutions- hot water is provided by solar panels; part of electricity is sun generated, too; we recycle all the waste; we use only ecological cleaning products; whatever we can source locally is sourced locally
• please note that because of the mild and stable climate here (at least 355 days of the year)

Our services

• we provide towels and linen in all our rooms
• the kitchen is stocked with basic products like salt or coffee
• tap water is potable
• we give the best local advice about trails and restaurants etc.
• you can store your luggage in the hostel before the check-in or after check-out

Our location

Los Sauces is 20km from Santa Cruz and 29km from the island airport.
We are on the town’s main square, with grocery store, bus stop and many cafes within a very short walk.

The main island hiking trail, GR130, crosses the square of Los Sauces right in front of our door. Another trail, LP7, climbs the street where our main door is. Combining these with buses you get a good couple of days worth of hikes right from the doorstep.

Our privileged location at altitude 260m means that if you go down you quickly reach the ocean with natural pools and beaches. If you go up you can get into pristine evergreen laurel forest that gradually turns into pine forest.
